< Clean up 1 square meter snow for the neighborhood >

My father often volunteer to clean snow at the common site in his neighbourhood. I imitated my father's behaviour, in the Netherlands, but within 1 square metre. The project reflects on the author's and her father's different understanding of the value of labour and voluntary work. What dose it mean to clean snow for the neiborhood? For the sake of honour and self-respect, for productivity, or something else?
